Healthcare marketing veteran Kevin Whiteley to lead company's widespread marketing initiatives
SAN DIEGO, CA – September 19, 2006 – Aperio Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of digital pathology systems to the Healthcare IT industry, announces that Kevin Whiteley has joined its executive management team as the vice president of marketing. In this role, Kevin will be responsible for leading the company's widespread marketing initiatives throughout North America and globally. He will report to Dirk Soenksen, Aperio's founder and CEO.
"Kevin brings to Aperio over 25 years of extensive experience in healthcare marketing, sales, management, and business development," Soenksen commented. "His highly specialized expertise within the healthcare and medical industries will allow us to achieve our company's aggressive marketing and revenue goals."
Throughout his career, Kevin has played an integral role in the marketing and growth strategies of successful California-based healthcare and medical companies, from small start-ups to large enterprises. He joins Aperio from XOFT Inc., a breast irradiation oncology start-up company based in Fremont, Calif., where he was responsible for marketing operations and commercialization activities for a radiation system to hospitals and oncology treatment centers. Kevin has also served in key marketing, sales and business development capacities at: R2Technology Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA), a medical imaging company focused on computer aided detection solutions; Alaris Medical Systems (San Diego), and the McGaw Division (Irvine, CA) of American Hospital Supply Corporation specializing in intravenous and drug delivery systems.
"As was the case in radiology, digital pathology is poised to become the new industry standard in how pathologists capture, view, share, and analyze pathology information," Whiteley explained. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration -- marketing from the University of Arizona (Tucson), as well as an MBA in marketing and finance.
